Insurance Restoration - Wind & Storm Damage

When your windows have been shattered and your walls have been torn down, let us board them up. When your house has been torn through and your life has been disrupted, let us restore safety. At Showcase Home Improvement we know that the damage caused by storms and wind can be devastating. We know how to respond with emergency service and minimal interference to your everyday routine. So when mother nature comes knocking on your door, let us answer.

If your home can be repaired, it is important that you contact us as soon as possible. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we are ready to respond. Our experts are prepared to work with you, your family, your insurance representatives, and any other parties to get the job done.

So, what should you do? Stop picking up the pieces of broken glass and pick up your phone. Although the weather did the work, we'll do the cleanup.

There are some steps you can take right away at home to minimize damage:

  1. If you have lost power, remove perishable foods from your refrigerator and freezer. The odor caused by spoiled foods is nearly impossible to remove.
  2. If you have NOT lost power, be cautious and look for any wires or trees that may have been knocked down by wind.
  3. If you dispose of any materials or purchase any products that aid in protecting your property, keep a list of the expenses
  4. Call your insurance company ASAP and report the damage.
  5. If you have to relocate, try to cover open windows and doors.

Unfortunately you can't undo the damage done by the storm, but you can be better prepared for the next time. Not all homes in the area were originally built to withstand high winds and rain, so here is what you can do:

    1. Make sure your roof is strongly intact. If not, glue it down.
    2. If you plan on replacing your roof, make sure rafters and trusses are securely connected to the walls and follow the builder-code requirements.
    3.  Replace doors with heavy-duty foot and head bolts.
    4.  Reinforce garage doors to withstand strong winds.
    5.  Make sure any screened porches and windows are properly fastened to your house.

Remember: The damage has been done, and all we can do is move on from here. Let us help you move in the opposite direction of the storm.  Wind and water are unpredictable, but our services are not.
